Items / Marines

MICHAEL J. WHITEHAND, who was born in Bridlington, East Yorkshire in 1941, is a self-taught marine artist. He specializes in oil paintings of marine scenes and currently works out of a studio in Cornwall.

He is very prolific and his painting achieves prices well into the thousands.

Many of his works are held in private collections throughout the world and this is a particularly fine piece.

The painting is framed in its original frame

Whitehand's style and the quality of his work is reminiscent of Montague Dawson. Just as with Dawson, Whitehand has succeeded in creating atmosphere, excitement, and realistic images.
